Gummi DX Clutch
Gummi DX are designed and manufactured to be utilised as high and low drum shaft clutches on drawworks. Interchangeable directly with National Oilwell's Dy-A-Flex Clutch, with the principal application being found on drawworks.
Gummi DX Clutch is a constricting style clutch that is capable of handling the heaviest loads, withstanding continuous and repetitive engagements during the drilling process, both for onshore and offshore applications.
With neoprene material as part of the design, it is manufactured to absorb shock loads and vibration to protect the drive components from the transmission. It is designed for various National Oilwell drawworks in the oil drilling industry.
Designed for heavy-duty applications, and with an open construction, which allows better air flow for high heat dissipation, Its ability to handle heavy loads, while withstanding repeated engagement and disengagements has made it a dependable performer.
Gummi DX unit features a neoprene rubber enclosed diaphragm for clutch actuation. It is isolated from the source of heat, due to the open construction and utilisation of ventilated friction shoes which promotes air flow across the length of the shoe. Instead of utilising an independent enclosed air actuating tube like the Gummi FKT.
In addition, the Gummi DX Clutch is composed of expendable component parts, so the element can be completely rebuilt and restored.
There is only 6 sizes available for the DX Clutch.

Benefits of Gummi DX Clutch
Ventilated Construction
Design of friction shoe backing blocks have air passages through the entire length. This design allows cooling air to flow through the element, providing a dynamic air cooling systems, helps to dissipate heat from the internal side of the Friction Shoe back blocks, improving thermal capacity.
No Lubrication Required
With no crucial sliding component in the design of Gummi DX clutch, which require lubrication, this helps in saving maintenance time, as well as money

Neoprene rubber properties of the tube allows the drive to accommodate minor parallel or angular misalignment.

The properties of the neoprene rubber material, works like a shock absorber.
It absorbs the shock loads, protecting the drive components of the transmission as well as reducing effect of torsional vibration.
