Gummi FK Element Brake and Clutch

The Gummi FK Element use a neoprene rubber, reinforced by cord materials that quickly expands inward when pressurised.
This action causes the friction shoes attached to the inside diameter of the tube to engage to the cylindrical surface of the brake drum.
When de-pressurised, the neoprene rubber will move outwards, causing the friction shoe to dis-engage to the brake drum.
It is designed and built to provide dependable brake or clutch operation, suitable for cyclical, high speed as well as general mechanical power transmission.

Shock-Absorbing Effect

Due to the working principle that the tube transmits torque through its sidewall, and the properties of the neoprene rubber material, it works like a shock absorber.
It absorbs the shock loads, protecting the drive components of the transmission as well as reducing effect of torsional vibration.

Flexible Coupling

The neoprene rubber properties of the tube allows the drive to accommodate minor parallel or angular misalignment.

Repair of FK Element Brake Clutch

As the tube is vulcanised to the rim, the only parts that can be repair will only be the friction shoe assembly, Shoe Pin and Lock Wire.
